![]() The airport located within the boundaries of Kittatinny Valley State Park is owned by the State of New Jersey and operated by the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. The core area of the park, west of Limecrest Road and east of Goodale road, has limited area to bow hunt for deer only. Hunting is permitted within Kittatinny Valley State Park, however hunting is not permitted on or from any rail trail. The lake is designated a “holdover trout lake.” The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife (link is external) stocks Lake Aeroflex annually with brown and rainbow trout. Six bridge crossings of the Paulinskill River provide scenic views of the river and some fishing access. White’s Pond is reachable from the Sussex Branch Trail or from Goodale Road and is open for shoreline fishing only. Anglers may access the lake by the car-top boat launch or from the shoreline. Twin Lakes is located off of Goodale Road in Andover Township. Access for both lakes is from Limecrest Road in Andover Township. Small boats may be transported by hand or small cart and launched from shore. Gardner’s Pond may be reached on foot through the small plane parking area at Aeroflex-Andover Airport. ![]() Lake Aeroflex is accessible by shoreline and by the boat launch ramp. Lake Wawayanda in Wawayanda State Park also received the landlocked salmon. Only a handful of deep lakes in New Jersey have suitable year-round habitat for cold-water fish like trout and salmon. The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife introduced landlocked salmon to Lake Aeroflex to provide anglers with an opportunity to fish for this unique cold-water sport fish close to home. You can also reserve the athletic fields to organize a softball or soccer game. The group picnic shelter at Hedden County Park accommodates 150 people, and is located next to the pond. If your group is larger than 25 people, take advantage of one of the reservable picnic sites, that includes a shelter, picnic tables, benches, and charcoal grills. There are picnic tables and charcoal grills. In the nearby athletic fields, toss a Frisbee or play catch. Picnics and Athletic Fields: Plan a fun picnic for your family and friends. Be certain to pack your fishing gear, as Hedden Pond is a prime location for the fish to bite. Enjoy a stroll to Indian Falls, a scenic point of interest along the Green Trail, and take in the natural beauty of the park. Both Wallace and Jackson Brook are trout-production streams. The paved recreation trail traverses the Wallace Brook and crosses Jackson Brook. Enjoy the trails by taking a leisurely walk or be more active by hiking or jogging.
